The Lamanai Archaeological Reserve is one of the largest archaeological sites open to the public in Belize. Archaeological research has been conducted since the 1970s, unearthing numerous buildings, plazas ceramics and other artefacts. Today, the Reserve has numerous reconstructed platform buildings and visitor’s centre showcasing many of the finds.
